I decided.
I decided to not take a single day for granted.
I decided that each day I was going to do everything in my power to retrain my autonomic nervous system back to full function.
I had decided.
Some days walking to the front door and back was enough.
Some days sitting up in bed wasn’t an option.
Some days I could run.
I learned to not question the patterns of this. But to focus on what I could offer by body.
Consistent stimulation via exercise.
I took the advice of utilizing a polar heart strap during exercise bouts. This aided my efforts in improving accuracy of each exercise session I endured. I programmed my watch with the target heart rate zone the doctors at Mayo Clinic prescribed me.
If my heart was beating too fast the watch would beep.
If I wasn’t pushing my heart hard enough it would beep.
If I was pushing myself just right all I could hear was repetitive breathing thanks to my healthy heart and lungs. Pure bliss. -Guaranteed step away from deconditioning and one step closer to optimal ANS function.
