I often am asked, what shoes should I be wearing?
What type of shoes you wear is going to vary from your peer.
This is based on the anatomical structure of your foot, the current state of your foot, and your activity level.
I will always stand behind the minimalist or functionalist. Unless there are risks indicating otherwise.
This is how I see it:
-The more you are able to challenge the musculature of your foot, the stronger it will get.
-The stronger your musculature is the better stability you will have
-The better stability you have, the better balance and function you will have in day-to-day life
The point is, don’t allow your shoe to wear you. YOU need to wear the shoe.
-I spend most of my days barefoot, when I wear shoes they have minimal support for running/playing/lifting. <3 …with that being said don’t go buy barefoot shoes and run 3.1 miles! Use common sense and condition. Chat with your doctor or trainer. Feel free to comment for ideas/aid.
