If you don’t have or have never used a coping strategy, then I ask you this:
“Are you wonder woman or superman?”
As much as we feel that we are “invincible”. We are not.
We are human.
For some, that is a tough pill to swallow.
We have needs. We have desires. We have emotions.
We will always want more, try more, do more, ask for more because to us that defines progress…and somehow is linked to “living a full life”.
In the thick of things WE BELIEVE we are wonder woman or superman. We take the ball and RUN with it. We RISE to the occasion. We GRIND sun-up till sun-down.
We do this, out of pure motive. -You can thank your SPIRIT for that.
Our spirit takes us places we have never intended or thought we could go. There is so much excitement, reward and gratification found when we believe. When we believe in ourselves, when we look to the future, when we don’t accept no for an answer….when we play pretend that we are wonder woman or superman.
Those journeys, come at a cost.
Have you ever heard the phrase, “slow and steady wins the race”?
There comes a time, and I promise you…it never fails…when we start to feel out of touch. We realize that we have been so consumed with everything else that we are no longer grounded. Our feet aren’t beneath us. We don’t know how to RUN with that ball anymore, how to get-up and seize the day…..we see the world through hazed glasses; losing the WONDER in our perspective.
What’s amazing is our spirit is still within us. We have a natural yearning to succeed. So we start to question. We try our best to cope.
Those with coping strategies steadily climb their ladder back to the top.
Others without, don’t know which way to turn.
Either way;
Take time. Fuel your spirit. Yet, MAKE the time to reflect. Keep yourself balanced.
Every day counts. Slow and steady wins the race.
Hey friends!
Having a pocket full of coping strategies IS a game changer.
I recommend to clients often to make a Go-to list during times of need. Unfortunately, we can’t turn the HUMAN side to us off. As much as we play pretend we are invincible and in control….we aren’t. Those emotions and doubts will creep in, life WILL throw us that curve ball. Stay humble. Leave room for the unknown. You’ll live a richer life.
My faves are breathing exercises, quiet mornings, the Bible, laughter, loved ones and of course EXERCISE & CHOCOLATE <3 KO
